Cuba’s President arrives in #Moscow as part of a work visit (+video)

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel arrived in this capital on Monday, where he was received by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Riabkov, shortly after leaving from the northern city of St. Petersburg.

For this day, the president has planned a cultural program and tomorrow he will meet his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, with whom he spoke almost a year ago in the Kremlin, on his first visit to this nation as head of state.

Diaz-Canel met this day with the governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, and with the top leader of the legislative Assembly of that Russian region, Viacheslav Makarov.

Cuban President concludes visit to St. Petersburg

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel concluded his stay in this northern city today as part of a work visit to this country, where he will meet tomorrow with his Russian similar, Vladimir Putin.

The head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Government of St. Petersburg, Evgueni Grogoriev, came to see him off at Pulkovo Airport.

Shortly before leaving for Moscow, the president visited the Leningrad Defense Museum, where he received explanations of the feat of the Soviet people during the 900 days of the siege of this hero city.

#US Officials Attend #Business Meeting in #Cuba

City Council members of Tampa and St. Petersburg, businesspeople and Tampa Port Authorities, attend today a business meeting in Cuba.

After talking with government authorities of this capital, the U.S. delegation will exchange views with representatives of the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment (Citma), the Ministry of Transport and the Center of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, among other Cuban institutions.

During a meeting in this capital with the legendary Cuban ballerina Alicia Alonso, the eve, the U.S. group advocated for normalization of relations among both nations.

This delegation arrives in Cuba after the U.S. government announced the decision of withdrawing ‘non essential’ diplomatic personnel and their families from their Embassy in the island, in response to alleged incidents affecting some of them.
