“Cuba vehemently condemns military aggression against Venezuela,” stated the island’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Relation, Ana Teresita González. 

Taking to her Twitter account, the Cuban official also noted that the island “reaffirms the Postulates of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace. No to a “military option,” against Venezuela,” wrote González in reference to recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, who stated that his government would not rule out a “military option” in regards to the situation in Venezuela.

Cuba reiterates its unconditional solidarity with Venezuela and calls for respect for the sovereignty and self-determination of that nation, stated Cuban Vice President José Ramón Machado Ventura.

During the speech for the National Rebellion Day in Cuba, he expressed: ‘Those who try to give lessons of democracy and human rights from outside, must take their hands out of that nation, it is only up to Venezuela and its people, without Intrusion, in charge of giving a solution to their internal problems ‘.

The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry spread a statement issued by the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), which rejects the recent interventionist threats announced by the US government against Venezuela.

The document condemns the most recent announcement of interference sanctions, coercive, unilateral and violating international law and the sovereignty and independence of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela by US President Donald Trump on Monday, July 17.

On the third day of meetings by the National Assembly of People’s Power work commissions, deputies reaffirmed their support and solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution, and the Venezuelan people and government, led by Nicolás Maduro as the country faces increasing aggression by radical right wing sectors from in and outside the nation.

After speaking with members of the International Relations Committee at the Havana Conference Center, Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Carlos Zamora, stated that the island’s government and people will carry on supporting the Bolivarian Revolution, which continues to “stand firm.”
