Delcy Rodriguez, president of the Venezuelan National Constituent Assembly (NCA), presented Thursday the official decree in which the reelection of Nicolas Maduro as President of Venezuela is officially recognized for the 2019-2025 period.
According to what is established on the Venezuelan Bolivarian Constitution, President Nicolas Maduro, now ratified in his post on May 20 with the support of 6,245,862 votes, will be enabled to take office in his new presidential mandate on January 10, 2019, read by Delcy Rodriguez in a special session of the Constituent Assembly.
The President, after being reelected in the electoral event for the constitutional period 2019-2025 ‘must take an oath and take office on January 10, 2019, in accordance with Article 231 of the Constitution,’ the resolution indicates.
The aforementioned document also recognizes the will of the people expressed through a universal, direct and secret vote, and celebrates the democratic spirit of the elections.
The congratulation message by the NCA was transmitted to Venezuelan authorities, among them the Electoral Power and the Bolivarian Armed Forces of Venezuela.
The decree was presented at the special session held by the plenipotentiary body in the Protocolar Hall of the Federal Legislative Palace, in this city, with representatives of the public powers, the Vice-President and the ministerial cabinet.
