US President Donald Trump’s actions toward Cuba must be rejected by those supporting the end of the economic, financial and trade blockade, the US activist Gloria La Riva said.
La Riva, who is leading US solidarity movement with Cuba and Venezuela, said in an interview released last night by Cubavision T.V. channel that ads such as restricting US travel to the Caribbean island led to the rejection of activists.
She stated that the challenge to the economic encirclement imposed by Washington to Havana since 1962 is still growing.
La Riva, representative of the Socialism and Liberation party and outstanding activist also stressed that the Donald Trump administration has only sparked off uncertainty for the US people.
People are wondering where we are heading to. Trump is always issuing a new statement, said La Riva, who also denounced the manipulation of the mass media.
In this regard, she gave examples that some US T.V. channels such as CNN or Fox paint a false setting about Latin American nations as Venezuela.
During the interview, La Riva recalled the announcement for the demonstration of left-wing movements in Washington DC on September 16 and 17.
The name is People’s Resistance Congress and will deal with essential issues such as poverty, political repression, murders of black and Latin American by the police, among others, she said.
