This Saturday, the 5th Ministerial Meeting CARICOM- Cuba will take place in the Habana Libre Tryp hotel, in the Cuban capital, where the 22nd ACS Council of Ministers Ordinary Meeting held sessions.
Cuba attaches great important to the relations with the CARICOM countries, with which it keeps cooperation ties in many fields like health, education, the creation of human resources, energy and others. This meeting contributes to strengthen the relations between Latin America and the CARICOM countries, like the ACS Ministerial meeting did.
In the Cuba-Caricom agenda today will also emerge the issue of greater economic risks due to the increasing protectionism in trade and migratory excluding and repressive policies.
All that, warned Cuban Foreign Minister, could entail serious affectations to the development models of Caribbean economies for their impact on the creation of jobs, income, industry and trade.
This year the CARICOM-Cuba Day commemorates its 45th anniversary, which is celebrated in tribute to the brave gesture of the leaders from Guyana, Trinidad Tobago and Jamaica, who established diplomatic relations with Cuba on December 8, 1972, breaking the isolation imposed by the United States on Cuba.
