Latest News of Cuban Center for Neurological Restoration Stressed

The application of the non-invasive brain stimulation is one of the latest news of the International Center for Neurological Restoration (CIREN), the only one of its kind in the world, celebrating its 28th anniversary, media reported here today.

The prestigious scientific-medical institution of the island is immersed in studies and treatments to sleep, investigations and treatments to the pain of the medulla oblongata and the attention to patients with disorders of the autistic spectrum, Granma newspaper stresses.

Maria del Pilar Vila, an expert on promotion and marketing, said the first lines of defined treatment were the attention to Parkinson’s disease patients, sequelae of cerebral infarction, traumatic brain injury and spinal traumas, disease or Huntington’s chorea and the dementias.

According to the official, more than 140,000 patients of 94 countries, from all continents, have been assisted in the healthcare center since its creation.

About 5,650 Cubans and 265 foreigners have been received in this institution in 2016, nearly 539 were assisted in external consultations. The main senders has been Angola, Mexico, Peru and Argentina.
